What it is
Your cloud, in its own window.
QBO Desktop is a native shell around the QBO dashboard, built on the same Chromium engine your browser uses. The dashboard is not modified in any way — everything it does in a tab it does here, with an application identity of its own: launcher entry, icon, no extensions, nothing else sharing the window.
What it removes is the friction of running a private cloud from a browser. It trusts the QBO certificate authority itself, so there is no manual certificate import and no warning page between you and your own infrastructure.

What it does
Trusts your cluster on sight
The QBO certificate authority is imported automatically at first run. No manual cert wrangling, no "your connection is not private" between you and your own platform.
Fenced to your origin
Navigation is locked to the QBO origin. Links that would open a separate window open as tabs inside the app instead, so the session cannot wander somewhere it should not be.
Tabs and an address bar
Native tabs and navigation, so operating several clusters at once feels like the browser you already know — without being the browser everything else is in.
The full dashboard, unchanged
Web Workers, in-browser SQLite and the live box and chat WebSockets all run exactly as they do in a tab, because the engine underneath is the same Chromium.
Its own identity
An installed application with its own launcher entry and icon, and no extension surface — nothing injected between the operator and the console.
Media that works
Built with the full codec set, so H.264 video from workstations and camera feeds plays in the app without a plugin or an external player.
Why it is built this way
