Steve Smoot joins QBO as Advisor and Investor

CTO of Corelight and part of the early team at Riverbed, with a career spent making networks observable.

Steve is CTO of Corelight, where he leads the technology behind open network detection and response. He was part of the early team at Riverbed.

He holds a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, where his dissertation addressed maximizing perceived quality at given bitrates in MPEG encoding, and he co-authored Private Cloud Computing: Consolidation, Virtualization, and Service-Oriented Infrastructure (Morgan Kaufmann, 2011). He holds US patents 6,374,260 and 5,903,892 on indexing and searching media content across networks.
